What is Bharathanatyam?
Bharatanatyam is a classical Indian dance form originating from the Tamil Nadu region of South India. It's known for its intricate hand gestures (mudras), disciplined footwork, and the use of a bent leg posture called Aramandi. Bharatanatyam often portrays Hindu religious themes and stories, and its techniques are rooted in ancient texts such as the Natya Sastra and Abinaya Tarpana.
